Sully “The Pickle” McLeary has finished his mourning period and taken a newly-undead Socks to the Celestial Tournament. He appears as one of the random Champions of Pandaria. This is the strategy I use to defeat him.
*This strategy was originally seen in this guide. I have never made any claims that I created this strategy.*
Pet and Ability Lineup:
Your Squad:
Any Frog or Toad. I used a Yellow-Bellied Bullfrog with Tongue Lash, Healing Wave, and Swarm of Flies. (Aquatic)
Sandy Petrel or equivalent flyer with Thrash, Cyclone, and Lift-Off. (Flying)
Any Moth. I used a Yellow Moth with Alpha Strike, Cocoon Strike, and Moth Dust. (Flying)
Enemy Team:
Socks – Claw, Infected Claw, and Unholy Ascension. (Undead)
Monte – Huge, Sharp Teeth!, Vicious Streak, and Burrow. (Critter)
Rikki – Gnaw, Cute Face, and Bloodfang. (Aquatic)
The Action:
Open with your Frog/Toad and Tounge Lash. Put up Swarm of Flies next. Socks will cast Claw at you repeatedly and attempt to disease you with Infected Claw, but it does little damage since you are using an Aquatic pet. Use Healing Wave on the third round to keep ahead of Socks’ damage. Continue to Tongue Lash and reapply Swarm of Flies when the debuff wears off as needed. When Socks gets very low on health he will bow out by casting Unholy Ascension.
Monte the Rabbit comes out next. Keep your Aquatic in for as long as you can, using Tongue Lash and Healing Wave appropriately to keep yourself alive as long as possible. When your Frog/Toad dies, bring out your Sandy Petrel (or equivalent) and lead off with Cyclone. Cyclone has a chance to do damage to the remaining backline pet. Thrash and attempt to coordinate your Lift-Off with Burrow depending on your speed. Continue until Sandy Petrel dies.
Bring out your Moth; cast Moth Dust on whichever opponent is in front of you (you may have to whittle some health off of Monte still). When Monte dies, continue the standard “Moth rotation” of casting Moth Dust on cooldown, coordinating Cocoon Strike with Bloodfang if possible, and using Alpha Strike as filler. Since Rikki does decreased damaged to your Flying pets, you should be victorious in a few rounds.
More Details:
Any Frog or Toad will be able to perform in the first slot.
In the second slot I used a Sandy Petrel because he is the pet that was available to me at that point, but you can use any of the similar flyers with success.
Any Moth pet is suitable for the third slot in this encounter. All Moths have the three abilities needed to win this battle; Alpha Strike, Cocoon Strike, and Moth Dust. It really cannot get any simpler than this.
