Chi-Chi, chick of the flaming crane Chi-Ji, appears in the Celestial Tournament as one of the final challengers to defeat before being declared the new champion.
This strategy will show you how to reliably defeat Chi-Chi in 4 turns. Yes, 4 turns!
Pet and Ability Lineup:
Your Squad:
Pandaren Water Spirit with Water Jet, Whirlpool, and Geyser. (Elemental)
Chrominius with Bite, Howl, and Surge of Power. (Dragonkin)
Any pet. You will not need them.
Enemy Team:
Chi- Chi, Hatchling of Chi-Ji, with Fire Quills, Ethereal, and Tranquility. (Flying)
The Action:
This is as simple as it gets. Bring in your Pandaren Water Spirit. Chi-Chi will attempt to buff himself with Tranquility and hit you with Fire Quills but he does very little damage. Have Pandaren Water Spirit cast Geyser, and then follow up with Whirpool, which sets you up for a big chunk of damage in 2 rounds. Put your Pandaren Water Spirit on the backline after casting Whirlpool and bring out your Chrominius. Have Chrominius use Howl, which gets Shattered Defenses applied on Chi-Chi in time to buff the one-two punch of Whirlpool and Geyser going off at the end of this round. Chi-Chi should be mortally wounded at this point; cast Surge of Power to finish him off.

Pandaren Water Spirit is an Elemental pet with Aquatic attacks. You can obtain this pet via choosing it as your reward at the end of the initial Pandaren Spirit Tamers questline, obtaining it from the Pandaren Spirit Pet Supplies awarded by the Flowing Pandaren Spirit (each type of spirit element corresponds directly to the pet that has a chance to come in the bags; Flowing = Water, Burning = Fire, Whispering = Air, Thundering = Earth), or on your local auction house. TUJ lists them at around 900g on my low-medium population server. The Pandaren Water Spirit is learned as rare and is only available in Breed#9, or H/S.
Chrominius is a Dragonkin pet obtained via defeating Chromaggus in Blackwing Lair. If you cannot or do not want to farm this pet, he is cageable and available on the auction house. TUJ lists him between 1000 and 3000g on my low- med population server. Chrominius is learned as rare and only available in Breed#6, or H/H.
